1978 Westfalia Champagne Edition 2. One owner. Original paint. Probably the best preserved, most original Champagne edition II for sale anywhere. Original Los Angeles, CA bus its whole life. Was purchased new at Allred Volkswagen in Glendale, 1978. Ready to drive anywhere and daily. Bus runs like brand new, very smooth!!!!! Original un-restored, un-molested gem.
Only 61k original miles. Original drive train. Everything works. 2L fuel injection, leak/smoke free and has excellent power. Engine and fuel injection system is original and in excellent shape. Fresh transmission service. Trans is smooth and has no issues. Bus starts up right away cold or hot and purrs. Passed smog test first time with flying colors. New push rod seals, valve cover gaskets, injector seals. Restored fuel tank, new fuel vent hoses, tank boot, brand new sending unit. Manual trans. Never been in an accident, no bondo anywhere, no welding ever, paint is in great shape and was just professionally clay barred, buffed and waxed.
Brand new Wolfsburg West front and rear window seals and chrome trim. Brand new Bus depot deluxe pop top and luggage rack seal. New Stainless rear view mirrors. Factory tinted glass. Original everything including trash bin inside jump seat, front and rear tables and ice trays still sealed in plastic. Comes with original shift knob. Quartz clock keeps accurate time. Child's cot is there and has never been used. Zero rust, even battery trays are solid!!! All floors, rockers, doors, parcel area, roof gutters, roof, Window areas are rust free and in superb shape.
New German fuel lines, vacuum lines, air filter, engine foam seal, oil and filter, spark plugs, points and condenser, battery, fuel filter, Bosch wipers... Brand new Nexen SV820, 8 ply tires. Interior is mint. Top bed has never been slept in. No tears in original upholstery. Uncut dash and door panels. Working radio. Brakes, steering and trans work great. Spare tire is original and was never used. Service records since mile 1. Original window sticker, all manuals, dealer temp registration card etc... Original dealer license plate frame. Cabinets are mint and still have the dealer protective cards in them. Front plate is NOS and was in a sealed envelope since 1978. This is a very special time capsule that has been meticulously preserved.
