The current owner says still in excellent condition and has been replaced its engine with 13419 miles on it. Selling our beloved, well traveled, dependable and meticulously maintained 1979 Volkswagen Riviera. Our family is getting bigger and it is just isn't the right camper for us anymore. When we bought it in 2012, we had the unfortunate experience of having the motor fail. However it was a blessing in disguise, as it allowed us to do a mechanical overhaul, resulting in a highly dependable and functional camper that truly is a joy to drive (totaling over $12,000, email for specifics. Big ticket items included, Rebuilt engine and transmission, catalytic converter, complete clutch kit, alternator, all new german axles, front ball joints, and CV joints/boots, all shocks replaced, heater blower and wiring, turn signal, new muffler, updated wiring and parts replaced as needed, all parts German VW if available). We haven't had any breakdowns or major repairs since, and we have driven this bus everywhere. We have been on time with all recommended services, and have paperwork from all maintenance and service since 2012, which was always done at one of three reputable VW shops.
