VW Bus for Sale, 1972 VW Adventurewagen High Top Camper

Price: $19,500

Year of construction 1972. Volkswagen Adventure Camper bus for sale in San Diego, California. Found this one Adventurewagen high-top camper model made by Adventure Campers Inc based on the early bay window bus, over half of a century still in awesome condition for its age, runs and drives perfectly and all camp amenities work well. The body has a good shape and remains in its original paint with some spots showing rust and peeling off, but the rest are solid, proven by photos.

This Adventurewagens is a lot better than the Westfalia campers?
As we all know Westfalia is a type of camper conversion based on Volkswagen buses that were officially offered and sold by German manufacturer Volkswagen, all made in Geman and for sure are made of high-standard quality.

Meanwhile, the Adventurewagens made in California by Adventure Campers are of very high quality, it's claimed to have good amenities with better quality materials and is designed as a better alternative than the Westfalia campers.

Based out of Fort Bragg, California, on the Mendocino coast the Adventure Campers founder Ed Anderson started doing these conversions came with the fiberglass high-top roof, fitted with a thermostatically controlled furnace, a 3-way fridge that was larger than Westfalia’s, a water filtration system, an insulated high roof with over-cab storage, sleeps fit for 4 adults and everything finished by best hardwood as options such as walnut, teak, etc.

The high-top form offered by Adventurewagen has more stable and is better aerodynamically at high speed and in resisting cross-winds, and is considered an advantage over the Westfalia's box shape.

2000 cc dual carburetors engine

It's the final year of the early bay model, the first of the two parts of the second-generation VW Bus model, usually, all second-generation models bring 1600 cc with a single carburetor, but some offered in the US market bring 2000 cc dual carburetors as saw in this photo. Fitted with 4-speed manual transmission and has 49000 miles seen on the odometer, at least it's been rolled over once. Runs well but has leaked oil issues revealed by the owner, that's normal for its age even with good maintenance, looks like a light touch from the expert will bring it back to perfection.

walk-through interior layout

The walk-through interior layout makes it possible to pass easily from the front to the rear also can stand in the middle and has a lot of extra storage on the high top, fitted with a stove, a refrigerator, an awning roll on the outside, and a rear bench that can be transformed into a bed, it's all good tools where designed to van life purpose. So it's perfect for those who want to live in the van, solo or couple, and only need a portable lavatory if you have trouble with squat or dirt.
