1966 21 window bus, outstanding survivor, original paint Price: 85,000
One in a Million. This is a must see bus. 109,600 original miles
Excellent survivor, super dry old bus. 3 adult owners form new. Spent 1st half of life as family car in northern Idaho. It's been in my family since 1999. It was way to nice to restore when I got it so my son and I did very sympathetic preservation. We took EVERYTHING off and out of bus. Cleaned polished & detailed. We installed sound deadening materials everywhere. Installed all new rubbers for all doors and windows. New tmi seat covers on all seats and new canvas sunroof. This bus retains all it's original door, side and kick panels and headliner. Some of the original vinyl has sunburn from it's time in hot northern Idaho. Notice the nice dash, safire radio (stopped working), OG steering wheel and rare green floor matts front and back. Original tool roll and jack in their og bags
The body is rock solid. No rust, no welding and no accidents. Only corrosion is battery tray. Floors are excellent as is belly pan and all 4 jacking points. Only issue with body is an odd wrinkle, see photo, over rh rear wheel well. Original paint except for nose and 1/2 of lh cargo door. Numerous small pen-brush touch ups. All glass is OG except windshields. All locks work
Engine is rebuilt AE block 1600 single port. Clutch and gearbox excellent. Original 12 volt option, wiring harness is excellent, horn, wipers, turn signals and all lights work, even the og clock is still ticking.
generator has been up graded to an alternator
Original Westfalia roof rack and side step.
all in all this a one in a million bus.
Step inside, and you're transported to a world frozen in time. The original interior, complete with a nostalgic safire radio and Westfalia roof rack, exudes an aura of authenticity. Despite minor signs of wear, the bus retains its pristine condition, a testament to the care bestowed upon it by its custodians.
Beyond its aesthetic allure lies a rock-solid structure, free from the ravages of rust or accidents. With meticulous preservation efforts, including sound-deadening materials and new rubbers, this VW Bus stands as a paragon of automotive preservation.
Underneath the hood lies a meticulously maintained engine, complemented by a suite of functional amenities – from the horn to the og clock, each component attests to the bus's unwavering reliability.
