VW Bus for Sale, Original 1966 Poptop Westfalia Camper Bus AKA SO42
Price: $55,000Year of construction 1966. Volkswagen Westfalia pop top camper for sale in Orange County, California. As shown here is AKA SO42 model offered by Westfalia based on VW T1 Bus, all look perfect from here, in good shape and repainted back to the original Lotus White about five years ago. The interior leaves only the back seat, and no camper amenities are seen inside. The engine has been rebuilt and upgraded by a professional.
For me, it could be great based and has a lot of potentials back to the original form, just put the original so42 camper amenities into it, and done, then rise the value.

Own this Bus for 6 going on 7 years and its been my dream Bus, didn't really think I would ever sell it, but two small kids and the lack of time I have to really enjoy it I've finally made a decisions to pass it on to someone else.
The past year its been mostly a great weekend driver and very occasionally a daily driver
Has always been very reliable, basic maintenance and tune ups, a couple new batteries ( less than 5,000 on engine ) , Professionally built 2180cc with a very sensible 34 pict carb, ( Carb was customized a bit to get more Performance out of it , always thought I would go a bit bigger carb but it really drives nicely with great power so I never got around to it.
Freeway flyer transmission , Takes off quickly and cruising 65-70 is no problem ( im usually cruising 55-60 )
Blinkers ,horn, wipers, headlights, tail lights, dash on speedo work . Gas gauge not working or connected.. never looked into it. no radio
A couple years into owning I had saved up and had Bus painted in and out back to original lotus white color code for this particular model , prior to paint it was about 70% original paint but had a few areas with rust repair/ primer and I was going for the clean in and out shiny look, so I had a shop strip it down and do the body and paint work.
Exterior : clean paint , going on 5 years since painted , a few minor scratches, thankfully no dents , still very clean.
Jalousie camper windows all work and are complete , glass is original
New tires, gotta be less than or around 500 miles on them.
Poptop tent has been replaced and in great shape
Interior : Front bench seat, clean no rips , Clean interior panels , newer front and rear rubber floor mats.
rear seat is an after market zbed pull out seat aka rock n roll Z bed , clean with no rips . Rear engine cargo area has matching cushion for those time you want to pull cargo seat out and have a bed .
Price is $55,000 ( I own a VW Bus service shop so if you'd like to change color or even install interior im open to that as well at buyers expense )
Excellent collector Bus ready to enjoy as is OR if you know what this particular model is take it to the next level with original so42 interior . These complete So42 Poptop Splitwindow Westys have sold 75-85k
.. My plan was to eventually get interior completed and keep as an investment .
