Detail by seller
Seven generations of Transporter have been produced by VW since 1949. It’s the best selling van in history. The current owner of this T2 Champagne Edition II is from Miami and he has had it for 8 years. He has 7 more cars in his collection now, so it is time to make some room and let someone else in on the fun. The restoration was done about 7 years ago and the engine was rebuilt about 8 years ago with just 7k miles traveled since. It has been well loved, very well maintained and only lightly driven. Clean and clear title in Owner’s name.
Redone 7 years ago, the two-tone Date Nut Brown topped by Fox Red with that bold ‘70’s style vinyl graphic really suits this body style and brings back the fun of the era without going over the top. The 4-wheel independent suspension has been lowered and that can be easily changed back to stock ride height, but with those Fuchs Porsche wheels the stance is perfect. The original set of wheels is included. A vintage style roof rack is always a plus for a VW and it’s practical too. The side step running board looks cool and gives you easy entry and exit.
The Sienna Brown leather interior was redone in 2018 entirely to factory specifications and really looks fantastic with the wood flooring. You have plenty of room for 7 to 9 passengers and you can load everything you need for a weekend getaway in this smartly organized space or up top in the large luggage rack. Amenities in the Champagne Edition include: air conditioning, tinted glass, a quartz crystal chronometer, and intermittent wipers. The rear seat backrest can be folded forward or the seat seat can be removed entirely so there is lots of room for cargo.
The Type 4 2.0 Liter air-cooled 4 cylinder is robust and durable with plenty of low end torque and great mpg at 17 city/25 hwy. This is the original air-cooled pancake motor and was rebuilt about 7k miles ago. It has virtually maintenance-free hydraulic valve lifters and Bosch L-Jetronic electronic fuel-injection and is mated to a fun-to-drive Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transmission with vintage speed shifter. Vintage speed exhaust provides the perfect VW rumble. 4-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension provide you with safe handling.
