We’ve seen many Volkswagen Vanagon camper vans with a pop-up on the top, but this Type 2 from the second generation is quite simple and solid, yes this is a high-top model, it doesn't take much effort to push up to get the roof level when parked and reseat it when leaving, and of course, with that mechanical the pop-top not as sturdy than high-top.
As shown here is a completely restored 1973 Volkswagen High Top Camper being offered for sale by its owner. Modernized and renovated on the interior side seems the wood on the top side needs finishing touches to perfection. Described as in excellent condition finished in a nice red color, runs and drives well looking for a new home.
